The facelift
Many people wonder about what a cosmetic rejuvenating surgery of the face really is.
Is it painful? What is the procedure? What is the recovery time after such a surgery?
The plastic cosmetic surgery of the face, or Face Lift, has the scientific name of “Rhytidectomy”.
The face lift (rhytidectomy) is a plastic cosmetic facial surgery that rejuvenates your face and neck, as well as enhancing your whole facial appearance.
The ``Optimum mobility`` facelift technique
Dr. Fanous has published a facelift approach that he has taught in major conferences. It is also known as mini-Dissection.
This technique uses absorbable threads and the least possible surgery in order to achieve a rejuvenating result, with limited swelling.
The facelift incisions are placed in front and behind the ear along the hairline.
Not only the skin but also the facial muscles are stretched and pulled using temporary threads (programmed to disappear a few months later) or permanent threads.
In some cases, a small liposuction is performed under the chin to correct a double chin (a pocket of fat) through a short incision.
The forehead lift 0.0.3
Dr. Fanous taught this forehead lift technique in major scientific conferences.
Only three tiny 1cm incisions are placed behind the hairline.
Importantly, the muscles are pulled, but are not cut, in order to reduce the possibility of asymmetric or very weakened expressions following surgery.
Then, the eyebrows are raised just a little using a very tiny screw in the scalp.
The three small scars are completely hidden in the hair.
The forehead lift?
Wrinkles of the upper eyelids are sometimes caused by droopy eyebrows rather than by a surplus of skin.
In addition, low eyebrows cause a tired and sad expression.
So, ideally, droopy eyebrows are lifted with a ‘forehead lift’, at the same time as the ‘facelift’ surgery.
We favor a forehead lift approach with mini-incisions called “forehead lift 0.0.3”.
The result?
An unattractive facial contour can become the center of attraction and can mask the softness of other more attractive facial features.
This is where the plastic and cosmetic face surgery, or face lift, comes into play:
A face lift is used to change the face in the most subtle and discreet way possible.
A properly operated face should be unobtrusive. It should not attract attention.
It is important that the face does not seem too pulled after surgery.
The most important goal of the plastic cosmetic facial surgery, for our surgeon Dr. Fanous, after the safety of his patients, is the natural appearance of the face lift once completed.
A properly operated face should also bring softness to the facial expression.
Considering the importance of the face because of its paramount position, the success of such an operation is crucial.
It is essential that the face lift takes into account the global facial harmony.
This is why a small correction of the face may very often make a huge difference, even though the change is discreet.
Alterations and corrections must all remain natural.
Friends or family members who have had the same surgery by him refer many of the patients who consult Dr. Fanous for a ‘face lift’.
Seeing the result on a person we know is one of the ways to assess the skills of a surgeon.
