Abdominoplasty Tummy Tuck

Abdominoplasty, “Tummy tuck” in Montreal

The abdominoplasty

Many people wonder about what a plastic cosmetic surgery of the abdomen really entails.

Is it painful? What is the procedure? What is the recovery time after such a surgery?

The plastic cosmetic surgery of the abdomen has the scientific name of Abdominoplasty.

Abdominoplasty is used to correct a sagging belly after pregnancy or weight loss. In these types of cases, liposuction alone is not sufficient as a treatment.

With this plastic cosmetic surgery of the abdomen, the silhouette becomes finer and more harmonious.

There are several types of abdominal lifts, ranging from the simple partial tummy tuck to the complete abdominoplasty.

Surgical approaches

Dr. Fanous has published a surgical approach, which bears the name of Optimum Mobility, also known as Mini-Dissection.

This technique uses absorbable threads and the least possible surgery in order to achieve a reasonable result with limited swelling.

During the tummy tuck, a long horizontal incision is done in the lower abdomen, at the upper edge of the pubic hair.

There is also a small incision made around the navel.

Not only the skin but also the abdominal muscles are stretched and pulled using temporary threads (programmed to disappear a few months later) or permanent threads. The excess skin is also removed.

In many tummy tucks, liposuction is also performed at the same time to eliminate excess belly fat through short incisions.

The result?

After the safety of his patients, the most important goal of a cosmetic plastic surgery of the abdomen, for our surgeon Dr. Nabil Fanous, is the natural appearance of a tummy tuck once completed.

Considering the importance of the abdomen because of its position, the success of such an operation is crucial.

It is essential that the tummy tuck surgery ‘abdominoplasty’ is done with, in mind, the overall harmony of the body.

Changes and corrections must remain discreet.

It is important that the abdomen does not seem obviously operated after surgery.

Friends or acquaintances who had the same cosmetic surgery with Dr. Fanous refer many of the patients who consult us for an abdominoplasty.

To see the result on a person that we know is one of the ways to assess the skills of a surgeon.
